Registration

It is important that the instructions provided here are reviewed prior to completing the online Application form.

The Hunter Education Online Application form consists of Parts 1 and 2. Part 1 must be completed to access the Lessons link and obtain and view the Hunter Education Student Manual (PDF) files. Anyone interested in looking over the course curriculum, whether they are doing so for information purposes, or are an actual course participant, must complete Part 1 of the Application form.

Completion of both Part 1 and 2 of the Application form indicates you wish to register for the course and write the Hunter Education (Part B) Exam. Please note, however, that registering online for the Hunter Education Course does not register you for the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (Part A). Persons wishing to take this course must contact their local Department of Natural Resources (DNRE) office instead.

Department of Natural Resources and Energy staff will contact online registrants to arrange a time and location for the Hunter Education (Part B) Exam. Once this has been determined you will be sent, via mail, a registration form from the DNRE office you selected on the online form. This form, along with identification and your completed Independent Study Guide Exercises contained in the student manual, must be provided to your examiner at the time of your Hunter Education Exam.

Upon submission of the online Application form, you will receive a message indicating whether or not your form was properly completed. You will also be issued a user name and password that will allow you to access the Lessons link and open and download the Hunter Education Student Manual PDF files. Non-residents who are applying as course participants and who would like further information on the location of DNRE offices in the province should use the "Contact Us" link provided below.
